He reflects on the meaning of success, the daily routines that help him prepare for a productive day, and the alternative paths he could envision if he were to reimagine his career. Mr. Scherer, if you had taken a different path when you were younger, what would you have become?

"Basically, I'm happy with my career and proud of the goals I achieved at a young age. I originally trained as a carpenter. Today, this helps me to understand the wishes and concerns of hand and head carpenters. I would definitely choose the dual education path with an apprenticeship again.

In my private life, I am very fascinated by the hospitality industry, especially cooking and entertaining guests. This passion was probably passed on to me by my parents, who are both trained hotel managers. I could therefore also imagine a career in the hospitality industry."

What is your favorite way to start your day?
"My day starts early, so I try to waste as little time as possible in the morning and, for example, prepare my clothes the evening before. I then have a 45-minute commute to work. I enjoy the peace and quiet and go through the day ahead in my mind. I could hardly do without this ritual - I've learned to appreciate the convenience of a long commute."

What does success mean to you personally?
"Achieving goals, thereby creating added business value and, of course, staying healthy! Working with people is important to me and I am delighted when I can support them in achieving their personal goals, enabling them to reach them and develop further as a result."

What would you work for free for a week?
"As a Lucerne native, I'm a carnival enthusiast. I could well imagine playing an active role in an association and helping to shape the Lucerne carnival. Unfortunately, I don't have enough time at the moment."

What was the best professional advice you ever received?
"It's about defining just a few relevant goals and ensuring that these are implemented."

We would like to thank Mr. Scherer for his contribution to this article.
