New year, new opportunities!
Here we present some tips to help you get off to the best possible start in the new working year:
1 Efficiency
Plan your daily routine, this will help you to get more done during the day. Make a note of all the day's activities and set priorities: What do I absolutely have to do? What can I do on another day?
Complete the urgent and important deadlines first, then the projects without any particular importance or time limit. If a task is particularly large, divide it into shorter sections. You don't have to do everything at once!
Try to estimate how much time the individual activities will take and be realistic about this.
2 Set clear goals
Thoughtful and precise planning is a must so that you can fulfill your resolutions. Take your time and ask yourself the following question: Where are you now in your career and where do you want to be at this time next year?
There are various career goals, which differ according to their content:
Career goals can be achieved with the help of SMART method be defined. SMART stands for:
3 Trends and further training
Those who undergo further training are more qualified, more confident and therefore more successful in their work. Many employers have long recognized how much further training contributes to employee satisfaction and their relationship with the company. Keep an eye on the future by keeping up to date with new trends and training courses.
4 Treat yourself to a break
Working through one task after another makes you tired, unfocused and prone to mistakes. It is important to give yourself a break. Take five minutes, stand up and stretch or have a cup of coffee with your colleagues. The social exchange promotes positive feelings and you return to the workplace refreshed and with new energy.
5 After Work
Going straight home after work, having a quick meal and then falling asleep in front of the TV usually sounds like the perfect plan after work. However, this is not the best way to boost your mood. It often makes more sense to plan an active phase between work and the couch: whether it's sport, a drink with colleagues or a walk around the block with the dog, activity chases away thoughts of work, brings calm and creates a positive mood.
6 Take part in office life
Whether in meetings, in the coffee kitchen or at lunch together: If you constantly withdraw into your private zone, you will eventually feel frustrated. Even if it means stepping out of your personal comfort zone: approach your colleagues, offer your help and build valuable relationships with the people you probably see more often and for longer during the working week than friends, your spouse or your own children.
7 Show gratitude
Gratitude can supposedly stimulate positive emotions and even improve a person's mental health. People who are constantly angry and complaining only make their own lives more difficult. On the other hand, those who are grateful for the things that life offers them increase their positive attitude - and are quicker to see the good in life and in people in the future.
